Interstate 35: (I-35) is an Interstate Highway in the United States that links from the Mexican border  to Duluth, MS. With a length of 235 miles, in the state of Kansas, the highway runs from the Oklahoma border to Kansas City at the Missouri border. I-35 further stretches through Wichita to Kansas City.

Interstate 70: In Kansas, I-70 contains the first portion to start being paved and to ends in the Interstate Highway System. It stretches from the Western border that is close to Kanorado town to the Eastern border in Kansas City. It passes through many significant cities in the state including Kansas City, Salina, Topeka, Lawrence, Abilene and Junction City.

Funded by the State of Kansas and the Federal Transit Administration, Kansas Department of Transportation supervizes public transportation programs. Bicycle and Pedestrian Program

This modal plan State-wide Bicycle and pedestrian program provides safe and efficient movement of of all bicyclists and pedestrians across the state. The program is focused to elevate bicycling and walking and encourage more people to adopt such means as it is an energy-efficient, healthy and non-polluting transportation alternative.

Adopt-a-Highway

The Adopt-A-Highway-Program works deligently to keep the state clean and also offers a great opportunity for individuals, organizations, schools or businesses to volunteer and help maintain cleanliness of all roads within the State Highway System and also plant trees or wildflowers, and helps remove graffiti, to make roads more appealing. KDOT initiated the Adopt-A-Highway program in December 1989. It is required that all volunteers must be minimum 12 years old and those above 18 years must be under proper adult supervision. The program is a successful government-public partnership program and various schools, church, social groups, families, business entities, clubs and youth groups actively adopt and participate in the program. The program helps to keeps the state clean by effectively reminding people not to litter, and also assist in saving taxpayers’ money.

The Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport

Rail Transportation in Kansas
